Asia Ayutthaya hospital located on the outskirts of Ayutthaya automatically becomes a local landmark due both to its size and public function. Surrounded by build “ad hoc” structures, advertisement signs and overwhelming amount of traffic the hospital is intended to have as soothing and calming impact on its surrounding as it should have on visiting patients. The exterior volume is softened by rounded corners and continuous vertical sun shading which conceals purposefully, irregularly placed windows and underscores verticality of the structure.
